I forgot my username how can i get into a quickbooks file

Have the Admin user (or anyone else, really) log in to the file and then tell you what it is from the user list.

    forgot user name 

    never had to enter it before I upgraded

    Hi there, @Roxanne23.

     

    The default user when a new QuickBooks Desktop file is created is the Admin. Try typing "Admin" in the username field. If you haven't entered password previously, leave it blank.

     

    If this doesn't work, I recommend reaching out to our Customer Care Support team for further assistance in recovering your username.

     

    Here's how:

     

    1. Select QuickBooks Desktop Help from the Help menu.
    2. Click Contact Us.
    3. Type in a short description of your concern, then Continue.
    4. Choose a way to connect with support.
