Question

I had to change the bank password. The system now says it is too long. The previous one was extremely short making it not really safe. What can be done.

Thank you for posting here in the Community, @peter115.

Let me share some insights about changing bank passwords in QuickBooks Online.

I can walk you through updating your login credentials in QuickBooks Online. However, the number of digits or characters needed for a password depends on your financial institution.

I recommend contacting your bank for guidance in changing your bank password.

Meanwhile, here is how to update your login credentials:

  1. On the Banking page, select the bank that you are working.
  2. Click the Edit (pencil) button.
  3. Choose Edit sign-in info.
  4. Enter your updated bank website username and password.
  5. Click Save and connect.
  6. Once QuickBooks can connect with your bank, click the "I'm done, Let's go!" button.

If you can't see your recently downloaded bank transactions in QuickBooks Online, you can follow the troubleshooting steps on what to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions in QuickBooks Online.

I'm more than happy to jump back on if you have any other concerns about the banking feature in QuickBooks. Let me know by adding a comment. Have a good one.
