I need to cancel name ander bank account

Thank you for joining the Quickbooks Community, garagedoorofli-g. Just to clarify, are you trying to set up a contractor profile, but accidentally created a bank account under that name? If so, follow these procedures to correct this issue. First, we are going to inactive that bank account. Here's how:

1. Go to the Gear icon, and choose Chart of Account, under Your Company.
2. Locate the account with the incorrect name.
3. Select the View register drop-down, then click Make Inactive.
4. You will receive a pop-up message, hit OK after.

Now that the account is inactive, we can go ahead and create that contractor profile.

1. Go to the Expenses tab and select Vendor.
2. Click New Vendor, as seen in the screenshot.
3. Add all the necessary information for the Vendor.
4. Select Save and Close once completed.

At this point, the bank account with the contractor's name will be inactive, and the new contractor profile is set up. If you ever need information on how to edit, add, or make a contractor inactive, I have attached this link with the steps to do so.
