I have my own firm and account in QBO Accountant. I am subcontracting to another who has a firm and account in QBO Accountant.

Can he add me to his team using my account's email address?

Do I need to create another email address to specifically use as a subcontracting address?

I have tried to replicate this using my own accounts. When I add the team member, if I give them an email address that already has an intuit account, it gives me an error.

I'll provide some details when adding an email to QuickBooks Online, MRV_Books.

Yes, you're right. You'll have to create another email address or use another email address other than the one you use for your QuickBooks account. I've confirmed this on my end and got the same error message.

You'll also want to know how to alert people through email notifications, go through this article for detailed steps: How To Turn On Work Email Notifications.
