Question

I recently upgraded my subscription to payroll and now every time I try to do an invoice it says “trial subscription expired, unable to edit”.

Thanks for sharing your concern on the QuickBooks Community page, Joe.

May I know exactly the plan you've selected when upgrading your subscription? Please note that the payroll plan is an add-on service in QuickBooks Online. Once you subscribe to this service, you'll have access to payroll features in QuickBooks.

However, this is a separate subscription from your actual QuickBooks Online plan not unless you're subscribed to our payroll bundle plan. If you need to resubscribe, you can follow these steps to continue using QuickBooks:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Select Settings, then Subscriptions and billing.
  3. For your QuickBooks plan, click Resubscribe, and enter the updated billing info.
  4. Select Subscribe.

You can also review the Subscriptions and billing page to know which plan you are currently subscribed to.

Please also know that QuickBooks offers payroll bundles. You can check this page for more info: Bundle payroll and bookkeeping.

Just let me know if you have follow-up queries about resubscribing to QuickBooks. I'm always here to help. Have a good one.
