Question

I tried to add a customer and it won’t let me. It says that there is something wrong with my subscription. I checked my subscription and it is current. What do I do?

Good day, @usernoamtellerbarmi.

Thanks for visiting the QuickBooks Community. Let me address your concern about your QuickBooks Online subscription so you can add your customer.

In QuickBooks, we do our best to ensure things run smoothly, but sometimes small technical issues occur. To fix the error message that you get, make sure to verify these details, and it's set up:

  • Ensure that all Billing & Subscription fields are completed.
  • Verify credit card details.
  • Confirm that the address for the credit card matches the address in your QuickBooks settings.

Please note QuickBooks only accepts the following debit and credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, and Amex. For more information on how to manage your payment and plan information, see this article: Manage billing, payment, and subscription info in QuickBooks Online.

Also, you can perform some basic troubleshooting steps. The accumulated cache and cookies could be the root cause of this unusual behavior. You may start by signing in to your QBO account in a private or incognito window.

Check out these shortcut keys:

  • Ctrl Shift for Google Chrome
  • Ctrl Shift for Firefox & Microsoft Edge
  • Command Shift for Safari
  •

If it's now working well, go back to your regular browser and then clear its cache and cookies to start over fresh. You can also switch to other supported browsers as an alternative.
