I updated number months ago When I login it shows my new number to verify but when I try to change card it shows my old number. Why is it showing 2 different numbers .

Hello, supremedentalstu.

 

An outdated contact information will likely cause some issues in the long run. So I'd like to lay down a solution and update the old phone number when changing your card. 

 

There's likely a sync issue that prevented the system from updating the phone number on the billing page. This can be caused by a cache-related issue, so let's rule this out by using an incognito window. Here are the shortcut keys: 

 

  • Google Chrome: Press CTRL + Shift + N.
  • Safari: Press Command + Shift + N.
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P.

 

Log in to QuickBooks as you normally would and check for the phone number. If it's updated, let's go back to the regular browser and clear the cache. This removes the cache issue and fix any problems that prevented the number from being updated.

 

After clearing the cache, close out any browser instances to complete the process. 

 

As an alternative, we can also use another supported browser to fix the issue.

  1. Click the Help icon.
  2. On the pop-up window, click the Contact Us button.
  3. Type "old phone number still appears when changing card" in the box, then proceed with Continue.
  4. Choose how you want to reach us (phone or chat).
