Question

I upgraded to QuickBooks Online Advanced in order to create back-up copies of my company's books. I selected Full Back and Run Manual Back Up. Why does it not back up?

I read it takes 5-10 minutes to complete the back up process but it has been over 20 minutes and it is still at 0%. I do not understand why it is not backing up or even at 1-10%. My books are not large.

Thank you for upgrading to QuickBooks Online Advanced and for reaching out for assistance with your backup issue, @vandistal. I can see how important it is to have your company's books backed up properly. Let's work together to rectify this.

 

First, ensure that your internet connection is stable. Sometimes, a slow connection can affect the backup process. Also, browser extensions can interfere with the performance of web applications. I suggest disabling any unnecessary extensions.

 

If everything's fine, let's log into your QuickBooks Online account using a private or incognito window to rule out potential browser-related issues. We recommend using Google Chrome for the best performance.  Here are the shortcuts for different browsers:

 

  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: CTRL + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N

 

Once signed in, run a backup again. If you're able to complete a backup run for the company using an incognito, return to your regular browser and clear the cache. If the issue persists, use another supported browsers as alternative such as Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge.  


In addition, simply logging out of your QuickBooks account and then logging back in can resolve minor issues.
