Hello there, @shannon_buchanan.

Do you mean to track your cash flow in QuickBooks Online?

If so, you may make use of various reports and predictions in QuickBooks Online to have a clear overview of your company's present and future finances.

Before anything else, ensure that your data is accurate. Then you can generate a cash flow forecast.

Use the forecasting worksheet as a planning tool to assess "what-if" scenarios based on possible income and spending adjustments. Create a three-month plan to keep your money in the black for the next three months.

Run a profit and loss report

To get an understanding of your average income and expenses for each month, run a profit and loss report for the past three months.

  1. Select Reports.
  2. Choose Profit and Loss.
  3. In the Report period ▼ dropdown, choose Since 90 days ago. Or click on Custom and fill in a three-month date range.
  4. Click on Run report.

Focus on the top revenue sources while looking at the income. Pay attention to factors like payroll, rent, insurance, and marketing expenses to determine if there are any areas where you can save money.

Run an open invoices report

The open invoices report lists all unpaid bills and statement charges for each client, along with totals.

  1. Select Reports.
  2. In the Who owes you section, click on Open Invoices.
  3. Hit Run report.

Run an unpaid bills report

Unpaid bills, as well as due dates and days past due, will be displayed in the unpaid bills report. This can assist you in displaying your short-term cash flow.

  1. Select Reports.
  2. In the What you owe section, click on Unpaid Bills.
  3. Pick a reporting period from the ▼ dropdown.
  4. Fill in your due date.
  5. Hit Run report.
