Question

I want to turn off sign in verification process. Settings shows that it’s off but numerous times a day I have to get a silly code from my email to sign in. Frustrating.

I just want to be able to enter my password and sign in without fetching codes from emails or phone numbers.

I can help you with turning off that verification process, @info-bellscapes-.

That verification process is a  security enhancement on top of the usual password requirement. It works as an extra layer of security wherein a one-time confirmation code is given when you log in.

To turn that off, you'll just have to log in to your Intuit Account. Follow the steps below:

  1. Go to this link:Intuit account and then use your QuickBooks Online (QBO) credentials.
  2. Choose the Sign In & Security and in the Two-step verification section, select Turn off.
  3. Enter the code, then select Continue.

For detailed steps in disabling two-step verification, check out this article: Turn on or turn off two-step verification.

Hi Mary Joy,

The two step verification process was already turned off. But Quickbooks still continues to send codes to my email for me to sign in. It’s just very frustrating because I will have customers stop in to pay and they have to stand there and wait for me to sign back in, fetch a code, etc. Any help would be appreciated. Quickbooks never leaves me signed in (even after adjusting the sign in time in the settings). Any help would be appreciated.

Hi info-bellscapes-,

I would also be wondering and feel frustrated if I'm still getting a code even after disabling the multifactor authentication. I would recommend checking this with our Support team since they have access to accounts. That way, they can help you immediately, and you'll no longer get codes when you sign in.

  1. Click on Help (?).
  2. Select the Search tab.
  3. Click Contact Us at the bottom, and choose a way to connect with us:
Start a chat with a support expert.
Get a callback from the next available expert.

I can see that MaryJoy has already provided you some articles for your reference. If there's anything you need, just comment below.

I am all for security, but the email or phone call every single time.

Why are they not using MFA.  Most of my software is using it now.  So much easier, and then once I am in - I am in and if I get logged out for inactivity, it is just a password.  We can be smart without being annoying.  Just sayin...

Same problem.  Now it is asking my Accountant to verify the account, but sending me the code.  This is stupid.

Same problem here.  Trying chat to see if they can resolve.
