Question

I was able to cancel my regular subscription with no issues but I'm receiving an error code when I attempt to cancel my payroll subscription.

I'm wanting to delete this account entirely as I mistakenly created two accounts, and want to ensure that I will no longer be charged for the payroll service.

I've come to share details about cancelling a payroll subscription in QuickBooks, and the actions you need to help take care of this matter, @office-shepherdc.

Currently, we have an ongoing investigation about an error when cancelling a payroll subscription. Rest assured that our product engineers are actively working to have this resolved as soon as possible. This way, you'll no longer be charged for the service.

In line with this, I suggest contacting our Customer Care team. They can add your account to the list of affected users. This ensures you're in the loop about the investigation's status and its fix.

In case you want to talk to one of our representatives to relay this matter, you need to request a callback. You'll first have to check out our support hours to ensure we can assist you on time. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QBO company.
  2. Go to the Help (?) menu.
  3. Select the Search tab.
  4. Click the Contact Us button.
  5. Enter a brief description of your concern in the What can we help you with? field.
  6. Select Continue.
  7. Choose a way to connect with us (Send a message or Get a callback).

Once resolved, you can refer to this article for the step-by-step guide on how to cancel your payroll subscription: Cancel Your QuickBooks Payroll Subscription. It also includes details on what'll happen to your payroll data after you cancel and reactivating it if you want to.

Also, I'm adding this article to further guide you in managing your business growth using QBO: QuickBooks Help Articles. It includes topics about account management, banking, and transactions (i.e., income and expenses), to name a few. You can also explore tutorials and videos to learn your way around the program.

We appreciate your patience regarding this matter. You can jump right back into this thread if you have other QuickBooks account management concerns. I'm always here to help. Take care, and wishing you continued success.
