You're in the right place, @lbh328.

I'm happy to share with you on how to move QuickBooks Online (QBO) data to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

We have multiple steps on how to convert QBO data to QBDT. Before that, we have some important information to know when exporting the data. Here are the following:

  • Right now, exporting into QuickBooks Desktop is only available in the US version of QuickBooks Online.
  • To use the export feature, you must be a Master Administrator, Company Administrator, or invited accountant.
  • QuickBooks Online is not compatible with the 64-bit version of Internet Explorer in Windows 7. Make sure that you have the 32-bit version of IE instead.
  • You must have a supported version of QuickBooks Desktop for Windows installed on the PC in which you are performing the export. For access to trial versions of the desktop program, for exporting purposes, see QuickBooks Desktop trial links.

If you're ready to do the process, check out the six detailed steps from this article as your reference: Export and convert your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop.

On the other hand, you can also this URL to initiate a download using the Internet Explorer browser: http://qbo.intuit.com/app/exportqbodatatoqbdt. Then, prepare to export your QuickBooks Online data by following the steps below:

  1. Click the Get Started button in the Export Overview window.
  2. Select Install under ActiveX Control Now.
  3. When it's finished, click Continue.
  4. Choose the data you want to export, then click Continue.
  5. Review the limitations and choose Continue.
  6. Enter your contact info and then click Continue.

Once completed, refer to this article to complete the process. From there, go directly to Step 4: Finish exporting your data.

I have this handy article you can read more about how your data converts from QBO to QBDT.

I also suggest visiting the Get QuickBooks Desktop user guides article. This will help provide additional guidance on how you can navigate the desktop version.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I'm always here to help you out. Have a good day, @lbh328!
