Importing and updating customers information

I acknowledge you're having concerns with importing and exporting data in QuickBooks, @mrstooie2.

Firstly, you mentioned that the import process requires the included template with the wizard. However, the template doesn't contain jobs under each client. I can understand how important it is to have all the relevant information, including jobs, associated with each client during the import process. Currently, QuickBooks only allows to import these lists and transactions:

• Account beginning balances, Cash sales to customers
• Checks, Deposits
• Invoices, Account transfers of funds
• Vendor bills, Cash refunds to customers
• Credit card transactions, Estimates
• Payments from customers, Vendor bill refunds
• Credit card refunds to customers, Credit memos to customers
• General journal entries, Purchase orders.

Secondly, the default QuickBooks import templates have minimal fields. To import more complex data, we can look for a third-party app that integrates well with QuickBooks to help add complex template. To find an app that meets your needs, visit our QuickBooks Marketplace and browse the available options in your area.
