Can someone please tell me how to add a default message to the "note to customer" section of the invoice in QBO.  Everything I can find online only talks about editing the default email message, which I know how to do.

Are you referring to the Message on invoice field in the Invoice window? If so, the option to create default messages on its note is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO)?
 

We can only create default email invoice messages in the program. I can see how this option would be helpful for you and your business. Therefore, let me take note of this as a suggestion to improve your QuickBooks experience.

 

Moreover, you can personally send this suggestion to our product developers. That way, they can review your request and help us develop QuickBooks. Here's how:
 

  1. Select the Gear icon at the top and click Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions. Then, select Next to submit feedback.

 

In the meantime, you can manually add its details when sending transactions. You can also check for integrated apps that support this function. Simply go to the Apps menu and search for the app from there.
