Question

Is a report available in QBO that shows pending Estimates with product/service detail (found pending Estimates report, but can't get what is going to be sold to appear)?

Thanks for posting in the Community, @JenGergen.

You'll want to open the estimate transaction for the product and services that haven't been invoiced yet.

Since we're unable to give the details on the report because of the partial invoicing in percentage or by quantity.

I'm shocked there isn't a report that can show pending income by product and service!

A little more detail on my problem:

We host events.  We sell sponsorships to those events.  An estimate is created with the breakdown of what events a potential sponsor is looking at supporting (each event is set up as a product/service line item in the estimate).

The solution I need:

What income is pending by event.

Do you suggest something else to accomplish my goal here?  I cannot be the only one with this need.

Thanks so much for your continued assist, Joesem.

The income is tracked through creating invoices, @JenGergen.

If you'll want to know how much income is pending, you can use progress invoicing. This will split an estimate into as many invoices.

To start, let's turn on progress invoicing. Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon ⚙ and select Account and Settings.
  2. Select the Sales tab.
  3. Click Edit ✎ in the Progress Invoicing section.
  4. Choose Create multiple partial invoices from a single estimate checkbox.
  5. Hit Save and Done.

Once you've done, you can create an estimate

  1. Go to the + New icon then select Estimate.
  2. Choose your customer.
  3. Fill out the necessary information of the estimate.
  4. Click  Save and NewSave and Close, or Save and Send.

Then you can go to the Reports tab and run the Estimates Progress Invoicing Summary by Customer report. It gives you a complete list of all estimates and connected progress invoices.

For more detailed instruction about the steps, you can click this article: Set up and send progress invoices in QuickBooks Online.
