The app keeps bugging when I try to connect. Won't even get past the second step. I've chatted with support to troubleshoot the issues but they can't figure out why the developers can't fix the glitch either

Hello there, @melanie39. I'm here now, and I'll point you in the right direction to get this fixed so you can proceed to integrate your Square app to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.

First, you'll want to reach out to Square's Customer Care Team to rule out the possibility of having issues on their end. This way, they can also check and investigate your account to determine the root cause of the problem. If there's no issue on their end, you'll want to disconnect and then reconnect the Square app to your QBO account. I'll gladly input the steps below so you can proceed. To begin, here's how:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to the Bookkeeping, and then select Transactions.
  3. Click App transactions, or go to Banking, and select App transactions.
  4. Go to the App settings, then select Square.
  5. Select the tab for the type of setting you want to change. To disconnect the app, select Disconnect Square.
  6. Hit Done.

See this article for further guidelines: Connect your Square account to QuickBooks Online.

If issue persist, I recommend reaching out to our QBO Support Team. This way, they can set it up for you so you can proceed to complete your tasks. Refer to this article for the steps: QuickBooks Online Support.

In addition, I've got you this article in case you'd like to personalize your sales form so you can match it with your business in QBO: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

You can also visit this page to learn more about customizing reports to show specific data that you need for your business: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

@melanie39, I'm determined to help you get through this. Feel free to get back to me if you need further assistance integrating square account to your QBO account. Thanks for visiting the Community. Take care, and stay hydrated!

Connect to Square is a free app and when something goes wrong they don't fix it right away. If you rely heavily on such connections, consider purchasing a third-party paid connector.

Quickbooks is used to manage the finances of a business. It has the ability to connect to a bank to pull in financial information. It can also do this with credit cards. The ability to integrate with one of the top POS systems, Square, should be built into it as well. However Intuit has their own POS system so they don't want to make it easy to work with Square.

The new app does not integrate with Square as well as the old app. They will not change it in the hopes that you will switch to Intuit POS.
