I"ve added a proposed 2021 budget and would like to compare it to the 2020 current numbers.

I'm here to ensure you can compare your budget data in QBO, @stmark5.

Let me walk you through the steps:

  1. Navigate to the Reports menu.
  2. From the search bar, type the keyword budget and select Budget vs. Actuals.
  3. Under the Report Period section, click the drop-down arrow and choose Custom.
  4. Enter the start and end dates example: 01/01/2020 to 12/31/2021.
  5. You can also click the Customize button to pick your desired columns.
  6. Once done, tap Run Report (see screenshots for reference).

For more details about the Budgets feature, please see this article: Create and import budgets into QuickBooks Online.

Here's a handy article that you may visit to guide you in filtering data and personalizing your report in QuickBooks: Customize reports. This also includes steps on how to export, send, and print reports.

If you need any further assistance with managing your budgets in QBO, please don't hesitate to post a reply below. I'm always around to help. Stay safe.

This doesn't seem to work.  Part of the B vs. A report requires you to select a Budget.  I have a FY21 budget and an FY22 budget I just created.  I just want a comparison report that shows FY21 Budget / FY21 Actuals / FY22 Budget all side-by-side.

The instructions here only show one budget column (whichever Budget is selected) regardless of setting the dates to span both years.

Utilize the trial version of a BI app as a workaround.
