Welcome to the Community, @bobweikert

I hear you and realize the importance of running multiple companies with QuickBooks Online. Allow me to provide additional insights into this concern.

Opening multiple companies for the QBO desktop app is unavailable. However, you can open multiple company files in a different browser.

You can open multiple companies in the desktop app.  I would like it to reopen those that I have open when I close the app or have a startup setting to open certain companies when I start the app

Yes, that's right, Bob. Let me provide details about accessing multiple companies and reopening them in the QuickBooks Online desktop app.

In the QBO desktop app, you can open multiple companies and switch between them without reloading each company. However, there's no specific option or setting to open certain companies automatically when reopening the app. With this, I recommend sending your product suggestion to our Product Development team to consider this feature added to future application updates. Here's how you can send one:

  1. Select the Gear icon, then choose Feedback.
  2. Type in your comments or product suggestions.
  3. Select Next to submit.

While waiting for this feature to be added, you can manually choose the companies you want to open when you launch the app. You can follow these steps:

  1. Open the QuickBooks Online desktop app.
  2. Select plus + next to the tab with your company name to add another tab.
  3. Select You’re viewing [company name] ▼ dropdown, then select the company you want to switch to.
  4. Repeat for all companies you want to have open at the same time.

You’re right, Nomad. That option existed before the update. Please share your feedback with our product engineers so they can consider reintroducing it in future updates and improve your experience.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon in the upper right.
  2. Choose Feedback under Profile.
  3. Type in your recommendation in the Share your feedback field.
  4. Click Next to submit.

In the meantime, you can switch between your company files to access them. To learn more about managing multiple companies, check out this article: Managing your companies

Good day! @Nomad Capital

We have an update with the QuickBooks Online desktop app regarding opening multiple companies in Windows. You need to get the latest version of the app (3.1.4). This version has the functionality to pin and automatically open multiple companies in tabs.

Refer to the details about downloading and using the app here: Download and use the desktop app.

Please let us know if there's anything else we can help you with managing another task with your app.
