Question

Is there a way to run a report that would show payments received by payment type (ex. credit card, check, cash, etc.)

Hi there, @LMBT.

Let me help and walk you through on how to pull up the report you need.

QuickBooks Online offers several reports to track the payments that you received. You can run the Transaction Details account report instead. Then, all you need to do is to customize it, so the payment method for the transaction will show.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. In the Search field, type in “Transaction Details by Account” and select it to open.
  3. Click the Customize option.

    5. From the Gear icon, select Payment Method by putting a checkmark in the box.

Once done, you'll be able to see the report with the Payment Method column .

You may want to check this link: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online. This will guide you on how to make your reports more presentable and fit your specific needs.

Once done customizing, you can also memorize the reports in QuickBooks. This helps you save the current customized settings.

I'll be here if you have other questions about running reports. I look forward to hearing from you.
