Hi, @jimstractorandsm. I'd be glad to provide information on why you're experiencing frequent identity verification prompts when logging in to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Windows updates can occasionally alter your system settings, this can occasionally happen after system updates. Consequently, this can trigger a security verification process.

Moreover, if you have two-step verification enabled, you'll need to verify your identity every time you sign in. Although this is an optional security feature, it can be adjusted to match your personal security preferences. Here are the steps to turn it off:

  1. Sign into your Intuit account if you're not already signed in.
  2. Select Sign in & security and then select Two-step Verification.
  3. Turn off the Use 2-step verification switch.
  4. Enter your account password, then select Continue.
  5. A message reads that 2-step verification is now off. You’ll also receive an email confirming your security preference update.

It's important to note that even with two-step verification disabled, you'll still need to verify your identity the first time you sign in on an unrecognized device, network, or browser. Furthermore, if we can't establish a high level of trust based on these factors, you may need to undergo additional verification to protect your account.

Additionally, If you're using a trusted device and still see verification prompts, an ad blocker might be the cause. To resolve this issue, you can either add *.intuit.com to your ad blocker's allow list or disable the ad blocker for this domain.
