Question

Is this the latest QB update? In the last 3 days the cycling time each time I open QB has been 3 minutes of “loading your data”. If so, that’s not a great use of time.

Hello, @melvin1

Let me explain why your QuickBooks Online (QBO) is running slow and provide a solution to improve your experience.

QBO is a web-based service that requires your computer or device's processing power, available memory (RAM), and internet bandwidth to function properly. Insufficient resources in any of these areas may lead to reduced performance.

Here are some ways to improve your experience while using QBO. We highly recommend using Google Chrome and ensuring it's updated to the latest version for the best browsing experience. Please ensure that your operating system is up to date and that your internet speed is not limiting your QBO experience. You can run a speed test to check your internet speed.

You may refer to this article for additional details: Why is my QuickBooks Online slow?

Once you can access QBO smoothly, here's an article on how to personalize and add specific info to your sales forms: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

If you encounter any issues or have concerns about the QuickBooks Online system performance, please don't hesitate to comment on this thread. I'm always available to assist you with any queries you may have.

You’d have to check with the cell phone manufacturers on the amount of RAM they put into their phones.  But if you’re going to update software that doesn’t work with the latest phones that seems pretty short sited in itself.

I've got additional steps you can follow to ensure a seamless QuickBooks Online (QBO) experience for you, @melvin1.

Based on design, QBO's waiting time is 10 seconds, and we continue to monitor it to ensure this is maintained. However, it's important to consider that since this program is web-based, various factors can influence its performance such as the ones mentioned by my colleague above.

Additionally, although the browser's cache and cookies speed up QBO, it can sometimes cause issues when there's so much that's being cached. That said, I'd recommend clearing it to start fresh.

If you're using the QBO app, here's how:

For Android

  1. Tap the menu icon then select Settings.
  2. Click Refresh Data then select Yes.

For iOS

  1. Go to the menu button then select Help & Feedback.
  2. Tap Refresh Data then select Refresh.

On the other hand, if you're using the web on your mobile device, check out this article to learn how to clear your browser's cache and cookies: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, keeping up with our business standing might be a lot of work. To give you a good reference in starting this up, read through this article: Track your cash flow in QuickBooks Online.

I'm all ears if you still need assistance in leveling up QuickBooks Online's performance. Just leave a comment below and I'll get back to you. Stay safe.
