Question

It is truly unbelievable that QBSE would allow us to write and save multiple line items, then report "oops, something went wrong" on Save Draft. Wasted hour, lost all!?

This is a usability report and functionality request. Please do not drop all edits on poor timeout handling. Save them. At least don

Hello finance159!

I understand how time-consuming this could be at work. I'm here to help you with this issue.

QuickBooks Self-Employed will automatically sign you out after a long time of inactivity. You'll want to refresh the page before recording a transaction or invoice. Simply press F5 on your keyboard.

If this behavior persists, you'll want to use an incognito window and record transactions from there. Incognito won't save your browsing history which can result in an error.

These are some of the shortcut keys:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P

Also, you'll want to clear the cache and make sure you're using a supported and up-to-date browser. This can fix any browser-related issues.

I also added this article if you need help in reviewing and downloading transactions: Export transactions and get reports in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Please feel free to post additional questions you have below. We'll be right here!
