Just dded a new user. He received his invitation to join but it asked him for a password which he doesn't have. What should he do?

Once they received the invitation and clicked it, they'll need to set up their login credentials. That's why it'll ask to enter a password and that will be their password so they can to login to your account. The email address you used when inviting them will be their username.

If it directed them to the sign-in page, the most possible reason is that they already have an account with QuickBooks Online. What they can do is to reset the password if they don't remember it. Simply select I forgot my user ID or password at the bottom of the screen and follow the on-screen instruction.
