I am planning to add a new location.  I want to make all exisitng transactions with the old location (Old)

Using the reclassify tool I can mark all the P&L accounts with(Old).  There are four balance sheet accounts where the reclassify tool cannot find transactions with no location listed.  These are all transaction prior to 9/3/2013.

For my bank account I can look at the register and see transactions not showing the current location.  In order to edit these, I must unreconciled, save, edit location, save, remark as reconciled.

 

For accounts receivable, there is no wayt to see location in register view.

 

I have already tried comining in as a new user on my browser.

At this time, the column that allows you to view the location of Accounts Receivable within the bank register is not accessible. As an alternative, I recommend utilizing the reporting features to locate those specific transactions. This will help you track and manage your Accounts Receivable effectively and edit your transaction's location.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Navigate to Reports menu and look for Balance Sheet.

  2. Click Accounts Receivable and hit the Columns icon.

  3. From there, select Location to add this to your report.

  4. Find the transaction without the location and click the amount to edit.

Thanks for the reply but this does not allow me to change the location.

I have several hundred entries to add location. 

When I open the transaction, there is no place to enter location.

Reclassify does not find these transactions.

This is why the reclassify tool cannot find some of your transactions.

 

Meanwhile, ensure that you've already enabled the option for locations in your company settings so you can enter a location in each transaction:

 

  1. Go to the Settings icon and select Account and Settings.
  2. Select the Advanced tab.
  3. In the Categories section, click the Edit icon.
  4. Enable the option to Track Locations.



  5. Once accomplished, click Save and Done.

 

On the other hand, entering a location in a batch action is unavailable in QBO. Since you have several entries to add location, I'd recommend sending your feedback to our product development team.
