Locked out of Quickbooks

I updated my IMac last week to High Sierra 10.13.2   Now I have been blocked or locked out of using my Quickbooks.  I have 2012 Version and hadn't updated in awhile.  Can I just get new Program installed and It will convert?

    Thats all I wanted to do is to view/access account with password reset!!!

    If you are trying to reset your password and regain access, you can try the Automated Password Reset Tool for QuickBooks Desktop to reset your Admin password. If that still doesn't work, let me know.

    Hey @Felissa

     

    I'm not a Mac user, unfortunately, but there are a few threads about Sierra compatibility on the QuickBooks Learn and Support page. Most of the resources I found refer to versions 2014 and newer. 

     

    @MorganB, do you know who @Felissa can reach out to if they need to convert to a newer QB Desk version?

    Have 2015 Pro, have started upgrade to online, BUT QB have locked me out...NO ACESS to my buisiness info (5 plus years) unless I pay $500 upgrade. literally hold ny buisness HOSTAGE for ransom, support team second party hung up after they couldn't sell me!!! QB are turning out to extortionists...I paid for desk top software..now they are holding access for RANSOM $$$

    JamesOng and alex247 have got it right. Upgrading your account to QuickBooks Mac 2016 would take care of the lockout issue.

     

    If you're still running into this problem after you update, you may want to speak with an agent who specializes in Desktop support for Mac. Agents have the necessary tools to fix exactly what is causing the lockout. The number to reach support is 1-800-4-INTUIT.     went to desktop version of QB, then an Account Copy message popped up the an intuit message 

     

    I have be totally lockout and the screen freezes the 800 # relives on the public to hef me they are totally irresponsible

     

    I am 66 y/o and I have no way to getinto quickboops

    You've come to the right place, @Gary Finley Interiors .

     

    I can share some troubleshooting steps so you can run your QuickBooks Desktop smoothly. Let's use the Automated password reset tool. Here's how:

     

    1. Head to the Automated password reset tool at this link. 
    2. Select your QuickBooks Desktop version. 
    3. Enter the necessary info such as your license number and personal information.
    4. Once done, hit Next.  
    5. Accept the license agreement. The automated password reset tool will be downloaded automatically (if automatic download didn't work, select download now).
    6. Access the Automated password reset tool, then input the token number received via email.
    7. Choose the same QBDT version on the QuickBooks Desktop Products drop-down.
    8. Tap Browse for Company File, then look for the company file you want to reset the password for.
    9. Type your New Password, then Confirm New Password.
    10. Pick Reset Password to complete the process.

     

    Then, when your QuickBooks Desktop screen freezes again. Here's how to fix it:

    1. Click the Windows icon and type Task Manager.
    2. Select the QuickBooks Desktop icon.
    3. At the bottom, tap End Task.
    4. Close Task Manager window.
    5. Open QuickBooks again.

    I have 2019 and they locked me out just because i didnt buy 2020  how can the lock me out of my information

    Hi there, ryantmagee046.

     

    QuickBooks 2019 is still a supported version. This means you won't be locked out of your software for not upgrading to the latest version. 

     

    If you're locked out due to a password issue, you can use the Automated password tool for QuickBooks Desktop the old one. Just make sure to provide the correct details associated to your account to be able to reset the login details. 

     

    Just in case you're still unable to reset or log in to QuickBooks, I'd suggest reaching out to our Technical Support Team. Here's how:

     

    1. Go to the Help menu and select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
    2. Click Contact Us.
    3. Enter Intuit account in the Tell us more about your question box.
    4. Click Search.
    5. Choose either Call us or Message us.

    Been using it since then. Bought a new computer and I can't open it.  I can't run my year end reports.  If I could just run the reports, I'd be happy.

    Good day, Saas.

     

    Before installing and using QuickBooks Desktop, it is important to know the necessary system requirements. This will ensure that QuickBooks is compatible with your laptop and will help avoid problems when you start using the program.

     

    After that, ensure to Run as Administrator when re-opening the QuickBooks program. If you're still unable to open the program, you can use the QuickBooks Tools Hub to resolve the issue.

     

    Here's how:

     

    1. Close QuickBooks.
    2. Download the most recent version (1.5.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it (like your Downloads folder or your Windows desktop). Note: If you've installed Tool Hub before, you can find out which version you have. Select the Home tab. The version will be on the bottom.
    3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
    4. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
    5. When the install finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

    6. If you can't find the icon, do a search in Windows for QuickBooks Tool Hub and select the program.

    I'm locked out of my QB. The PW reset, challenge question and reset tool will not work. I have the Licesnce number and the original login info.

     

    Please help with any suggestions
