Good afternoon, @arkvalleyinfo.

I hope you had a phenomenal weekend.

The Intuit IDs that you use to sign into QuickBooks Online (and TurboTax, Intuit Online Payroll, etc) cannot be merged, but you can add the alternate user and edit the other's credentials to achieve the same effect. Here's how:

Adding a User in QuickBooks Online

  1. From QuickBooks Online, click the Gear icon (⚙) and select Manage Users.
  2. Verify that the Intuit ID with the email you'd like to use is listed. If it isn't, click Add User.
  3. Enter the ID's current email to send an invitation. Once the user is added, you can update their email if it isn't the one you'd like to use moving forward.
  4. Follow the instructions at the recipient's email address to add the alternate user.

You can learn more about adding or removing users from our thorough guide here as well as the quick video I've included below:

Doing this will add the desired Intuit ID to your Online company so you can begin removing and editing the unneeded one. Keep in mind, if the existing user is the Master Administrator of the company, you'll need to transfer the role to the new user. Our guide on Transferring the Master Admin Role is sure to be of help with that. Once you've done this, just change the email on the old account to one you don't want or need using the instructions below:

Changing your Intuit ID Email

  1. Navigate to the Intuit Account Management portal by clicking the link.
  2. Sign in using the credentials of the account you don't want any longer.
  3. Next to Email Address, click Edit. Enter a throw-away address or one that you won't be using with any other Intuit products.
  4. Head to that email's inbox and follow the instructions to verify the address change.
  5. Repeat these steps if necessary to edit the desired account's credentials as well.

With these resources, you'll have all of your Intuit products aligned with just one login in no time. Please touch base with me here should you have any additional questions or concerns, I want to ensure your success. Thanks for reaching out, wishing you a productive week ahead.

Hello Intuit Quickbooks -

I have a Quickbooks Online Simple Start. For years I've used TurboTax online to file our income tax returns. Since doing this was for our personal tax returns, even though we filed Schedule C's, I had a personal account with Intuit I only used for TurboTax. When I signed up for Quickbooks, for some reason it didn't dawn on me to use the same ID and I created a new ID for my Quickbooks account.

Since I only have Simple Start for Quickbooks, as I don't have any need for either of the two upgrade options, I'm unable to add a user as described in this post. Is there as way to somehow link my Intuit account I use only for TurboTax and my Intuit account I use for Quickbooks?

Hi there, Kristena.

At the moment, connecting TurboTax directly to QuickBooks is unavailable. You'll want to print or export the data from QuickBooks and manually enter it in your TurboTax software for tax filings.

Alternatively, you can look for a third-party application that can integrate with QuickBooks.

I'll also share this suggestion to our product engineers for evaluation. Feedback like this helps us decide which features to build and what improvements should be made to our platform.

For any additional questions or other ideas, feel free to get back to us here. Thanks.

Hello QB Support,

I am in a similar situation with two Intuit accounts. One account gives me access to submit my time tracking in Tsheets and the other account gives me access to QB backend. I was hoping to find a way to merge my two accounts without losing any data. Can someone help me with this?

Hey there, @ewong.

Thanks for following the thread and sharing your concerns.

As mentioned by my colleagues above, we aren't able to merge the accounts. However, since you've stated that one of your accounts is to access QuickBooks backend, would you mind explaining this account further? Is it associated with your QuickBooks account?

If the account isn't associated with your QuickBooks account, I recommend contacting our Support Team. This way, an agent can use the proper tools to investigate the account and see if there is a way to connect it to your current account.

I'll be sure to keep an eye out for your response and look forward to chatting with you soon. Take care!
