Missing Invoices & Payments for 2021

While working today, I noticed that none of my 2021 invoices were reflected under my accounts, nor the payments customers made.  None of the accounts showed any invoices or payments.  Not sure if this was something that happened when QB changed the invoice layout (it was a new layout today when I started invoicing).  Any ideas?  Is there a way to get these invoices and payments to reflect back on the accounts?  Thank you!

I'll be glad to help you find your missing invoices and payments for 2021, GunnyGal.

To start, let's make sure to use the correct filters to locate the invoices. I'll show you how:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account and go to the Sales menu.
  2. Within the All Sales tab.
  3. Click the Filter icon. Then, select Invoices.
  4. Make sure to set the correct date for the missing invoices.
  5. Hit Apply.

If you're unable to locate them, we can utilize the Audit Log feature to verify if someone accidentally deleted the invoices. Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper right corner.
  2. Select Audit Log.
  3. Click the Filter panel to filter User, Date, or Events and narrow the results.
  4. Hit Apply.

If none of these fixes the issue, I recommend logging in to your QuickBooks account using a private browser. This helps us determine if this is a browser-related issue. Here are the shortcut keys:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If it works, I suggest clearing the browser's cache. This removes the history or log of sites so you can start with a clean slate. You can check this article to see the steps: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

If the steps above didn't work, you can use another supported browser.
