Move Company to QBO from QBDT or Online Conversion Tool

Hi,

In preparation for a conversion to QBO Advanced from QBDT Plus Pro 2024, I have imported our company both by exporting the company file from within QBDT and also by uploading a backup file to the online conversion tool. Both worked well and came through cleanly. Is either method a better choice for the final conversion?

Thanks!

You should get the same results. Make sure to secure your backup files (*.qbb). You may need it in the future to access historical data.

Hello, @BellFinance.

I am glad to hear that both methods for migrating your file worked well. Allow me to provide you with some insights regarding this matter.

Both methods will yield the same results. The standard method allows you to export your data directly from QBDT and import it into QBO Advanced. This can be a relatively simple process that doesn't require any additional tools or services.

On the other hand, uploading a backup file to the online conversion tool can be a more hands-off approach and has built-in checks that help ensure a clean transfer of data. Customers who are on discontinued versions can use this method to easily move their data without upgrading to the latest version.

Ultimately, the best choice for you depends on your business preference.
