Hey there, @pacfanab.

Let me help you get rid of this issue. Before we start, let me show you the possible reasons why you are this error message. Here is the list:

  • The version of QuickBooks Desktop you are using does not support your version of Windows
  • The status of the payroll subscription in the QuickBooks Desktop Service Keys screen appears as "Invalid number or EIN"
  • Data damage
  • Incorrect Employer Identification Number (EIN) in the company file
  • Product not updated

To fix this concern, make sure that you have the latest QuickBooks Desktop release and downloaded the current tax table release.

Once done, let's verify your credit card information again. This way, we make sure that you're billing info is correct.

Here's how:

  1. In QuickBooks, go to Employees.
  2. Select My Payroll Service, then click Account/Billing Information.
  3. Sign in using your Intuit Account login.
  4. Click Billing Detail and select Edit billing info.
  5. Check your billing information and then click I Agree.

If you're still getting the same error message, I recommend reaching out to our customer support. This way, they can check your company file and trace the cause of this concern.

Just tag my name in the comment section if you have any other concerns or questions. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Stay safe.
