Question

My 2020 1099 reports are NOT picking up checks that were cashed in January 2021. Should I change the date on the checks back to 12/31/21?

1099 is cash based, when the check was cashed makes no difference, the date you wrote the check is the key.  Always date the check as of the date you issued it.
