My accountant keeps on loosing access to our quickbooks. Every time I have to delete and add them again. What should I do to fix this problem?

If your accountant isn't seeing your company listed on their client list, but you've already invited them as a user and given them access, they'll initially want to check their sign in details. For example, if they have multiple user IDs they use for their firm, and are signing in with the incorrect credentials. They'll want to verify they're using the appropriate information to log in.

In the event they've forgotten/lost their user ID and/or password, they can recover them anytime.

Here's how:

  1. Go to our QuickBooks Online Accountant sign in page.
  2. Click I forgot my user ID or Password.
  3. Afterwards, they'll need to follow along with their onscreen steps to complete the process.

If they're able to sign in to their account and see your company listed on their client list, it's possible your company may not be connected to their firm.

They can check if your company's connected with their books while signed in. They'll need to go to Settings (⚙️), then Switch Company and use their Drop-down symbol (▼) under the firm's name. After doing so, they can look to see if your company's listed. If it's not, you'll need to invite them to be your accountant again.

In the event neither of these solutions have solved their problem, their next step will be to check their client list. They'll need to go to their Clients menu and look for your company's name. If it's there and has a QuickBooks symbol next to it, then your company is connected with their firm. In the event its's listed on their client list, but has no QuickBooks symbol next to its name, your company isn't connected with their books, and you'll need to re-invite them as an accountant user.

If they've identified your company's connected with their firm, but they can't find your company to do their review, they'll want to go to your client profile and confirm your business and display names match:

  1. They'll need to go to their Clients menu and look for your company.
  2. After finding your company, they can edit it by clicking Edit client.
  3. From their client editing screen, they'll want to review your Business name, Display name, and personal names. This will help them know which company name to look for they go to do their review of your books.

In the event none of these four solutions solved their problem with accessing your books, they'll want to make sure they still have access to your company.

I'll be here to help if there's any additional questions. Have a lovely day!
