Question

My P&L report continues to show an Unclassified Income Total at the bottom of the report, but I have checked all transactions and there is not one. How to correct?

How can i search by the Unclassified Income Name to locate these transactions? I have gone through all of my bank transactions and can not locate any assigned to this Income title

I appreciate you for letting us know about this, @Jeffrey11_2. I'm here now. Let's work this out so you can proceed to complete your tasks in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account and get rid of the unclassified income in your profit and loss report.

First, I'd like to ask if you happen to have transactions in your company that uses a different currency. It could be the reason you have unclassified income in your P&L report. It happens, for example, if you have a customer or vendor that uses a currency different from your home currency, and they pay you the exact amount they have on their invoice. The conversion will then apply to their payment for the item or service that you've rendered to them. If they owe you $1 and it happens that your currency's rate is higher than theirs, when they pay you the invoice, depending on their currency's current rate, if it's a gain, you'll be receiving 1.50 dollars from them. The $.50 will then be added to your unclassified income in your profit and loss.

But if this isn't the case, and you need to fix your records and reflect them in QBO, you can use custom fields to track down the data you need to reflect on your Profit and loss report. Please be aware this feature is only available in QuickBooks Online Advanced.

See this article for more information about custom fields: Use custom fields in reports in QuickBooks Online.

Also, I have here a workaround if you only needed a copy of the report so you can send it to someone else. You can export your Profit and loss report to Excel and then from there, you'll manually edit it to get rid of the unclassified income.

See this page for further guidelines: Export your reports to Excel from QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, I've got you this article about customizing a report in QBO: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

@Jeffrey11_2, Don't hesitate to get back to me if you need further assistance managing reports in QuickBooks. I'm more than determined to help you get this sorted out as soon as possible. Take care, and have a great weekend!
