I've got your back, brookjensen76. I'm here to ensure you'll be able to fix the error code 103 you've encountered when connecting your bank to QuickBooks Online.

Before proceeding with the troubleshooting steps I've got for you, may I know what is your specific bank institution? This way, we'll be able to verify if there's a reported issue about this matter. Any additional information will get us closer to the resolution.

Usually, this occurs when credentials entered into QBO don’t match what your financial institution has. There are a few reasons we can consider that could cause this error:

  • When you've entered the wrong credentials while trying to connect to your financial institution for the first time.
  • When you've selected the wrong financial institution (there are often many to select from).
  • You’ll need to change the data in QuickBooks Online if you are currently connected and have updated your credentials with your financial institution.

To sort this out, I'd suggest reaching out to your bank. There's a great possibility that there having system maintenance. Thus, you're unable to link your account. We can log in to your bank’s website to check for any notifications that need your attention.

If everything looks good, try to reconnect and enter your credentials manually. If the same thing happens, please follow these steps:

  1. From the left pane, select the Banking menu and click Add account.
  2. If you already have an existing bank account in your Chart of Accounts, go to the Action column and select View register (or Account history) drop-down, and choose Connect bank.
  3. In the search field, enter the bank’s name or enter their URL.
  4. If multiple results are displayed, select the bank name in the list for your account.
  5. Log in with your user id and password.
  6. If you receive error 103 again, tap the Go back button and proceed to the next name on the list. Repeat this process until you have successfully connected your account.

Alternatively, you'll want to consider manually importing the bank transactions into QBO. If this caused duplicates in your transactions we can exclude them moving forward.
