Request to be the primary admin or contact

Last resort, you can purchase a 3rd party service to migrate data to a new QBO account.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) offers two methods to transfer the Primary Admin role specific to your situation, Vickie. I'd gladly share the process to ensure a smooth transition of administrative access.

Before anything else, when changing the Primary Admin in QBO, please note that only the current Primary Admin can authorize changes to user roles and access sensitive financial information.

Now, you'll need to contact or reach out the previous primary admin so they can transfer the role directly. Once done, the previous admin can then voluntarily remove their user credentials.

However, if you can't contact the previous admin, submit a request with official documents verifying your business ownership. The required documents depend on your business type. If you have QBO access, follow the instructions below. Otherwise, create an Intuit Account to upload the documents.
