QB 2023 upgrade

I keep getting a notice when I first log on daily about a QuickBooks 2023 upgrade being ready to download and install. Is this an upgrade that is part of the annual contract, or is this a sales notice that we will be asked to pay for upon download? When I click on the "check out what's new .." I get a screen to take a product tour or "Buy online".  Why would we "buy" when our existing system works and is still supported?

Is it required annually to upgrade?  How long will QB continue to support 2022?  I also would guess that we would need to coordinate upgrade with all users and our server ... true?

They will support QBD 2022 until May 2025. If you don't have any issues with QBD 2022 or need any of the features available in QBD 2023, you should wait to upgrade your version at least until next year's Q2.

Hello, Big-Al.

No. You don't need to upgrade annually. QuickBooks 2022 will be discontinued on May 31, 2025, since each version has a 3-year life cycle.

You might see a pop-up when you launch QuickBooks Desktop stating that a new software update is available. The system will suggest this to keep your software updated, which will help you take advantage of new functionality and protect you from potential technical problems in the future.

If you'd like, you can disable the QuickBooks update service notification/pop by following the steps below.

Step 1: Turn off the Automatic Updates.

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. Select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  3. Click the Options tab.
  4. Choose No under Automatic Update.
  5. Once done, hit Close.

Step 2: Turn off Software pop-up messages.

  1. From the Edit menu, select Preferences.
  2. From the Preferences window, click General on the left column
  3. Go to the My Preferences tab.
  4. Check the box next to Turn off pop-up messages for products and services.
  5. Once done, hit OK.

Hi, I have QB Premier MFG - 2020, and I am receiving constant upgrade messages. It seems like I am being forced to upgrade or cannot run my software. Is that correct?  Or will my software be limited. I understand you will no longer support 2020 but wondering if there some way to stop the messages and allow to continue to use the 2020 software. Also, my QB has begun to lock up after 15/20 minutes of program use. This has coincided with the upgrade messages... nefarious?   Thanks, John

@personaltouchproducts

Just ignore the message. As long as you are connecting with internet, a new message will appear randomly. What do you mean with "QB has begun to lock up after 15/20"?
