Thank you for turning to the Community about your payments concern, issuejason-volmut1017.

Allow me to share some insights on why your funds are on hold. Then, guide you on how to fix the issue.

We regularly review payments to ensure that everything is in order. When something unexpected happens in your transaction, it may result in a payment hold. Here are some of the most common causes:

  1. When your payment processing exceeds the established maximum dollar amount expected on your account.
  2. When a transaction is processed after several authorization attempts and failures.
  3. When certain transactions require verification of your business type to ensure it complies with the Intuit Acceptable Use Policy.
  4. When our systems identify processing patterns that pose a risk to any of the parties involved: you, your customer, or Intuit.

If there’s an issue with the funds, you will receive an email with instructions on how to resolve it. Make sure to follow the steps in the email so we can complete the review within 2 business days. However, if it's beyond the period mentioned above, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Payments Team for further assistance.

For more details, check out the following article: Why are my funds on hold? From there, you’ll learn how to check the status of the payments as well as the turnaround time for the review process.

If you’re a new QuickBooks Payments user, we'll deposit your first set of payments within 5 business days (referred to as batch). The process may take a while as we set up your account.

Once we set up everything, we'll deposit customer payments much faster. To learn more about when QuickBooks deposits the funds as well as the deposit speed, you can go over this reference: Find out when QuickBooks Payments deposits customer payments.

For future reference, this resource contains answers on how QuickBooks Payments works: Common questions about payments deposits in QuickBooks Online.

Don’t hesitate to post a comment below if you have additional questions about processing payments or other QuickBooks concerns. I’ll get back to help and make sure you’re taken care of.
