Quickbooks desktop - How can I move the QTY FIELD in the desktop version?

Quickbooks desktop - How can I move the QTY FIELD in the desktop version? when Im typing my invoices, the QTY field USED to be over on the right right before RATE, now its moved to the LEFT before the description.

Hi,

 

We can change the order of the column by hovering the header and move it to your desired place. Let me guide you how:

 

  1. Place the cursor of the mouse over a column header.
  2. Left click.
  3. Hold the mouse button down as you drag the column to its desired location.

Hi - thank you but unfortunately this does not work in the desktop version I have I can only move columns left and right to make larger/smaller but not letting me move or click as you said.

You are correct. Thank you for pointing that out.

 

For now, you can only move the order of the column by following these steps:

 

  1. Go to List > Templates.
  2. Double-click on the invoice template.
  3. Click the Additional Customization button. When prompted to select a copy, click the Make copy button.
  4. Go to the Columns tab.
  5. From the Order field, enter the number where you want to assign the column. For example, you have 5 columns, and you want to move the Quantity to the right side, you can select 4 or 5. 
  6. Hit OK to save the customization.
