Quickbooks desktop pro 2019

I am trying to add a 2nd company to quickbooks.

The program says that I need to upgrade to be able to add the 2nd company?

Is that correct?

if so what desktop version supports multiple companies?

    @LiveWell2  Not sure about Pro, but the Accountant versions don't seem to have any issue adding any number of products. They have all the nice features too, like mass-reclassification of entries.

     

    I'd say the issue is less the Year you're using, and more the type of subscription you have.

     

    Good luck getting them to sell to you at a reasonable price, though.

      QuickBooks Desktop lets you create and manage multiple company files within the software, allowing you to handle the accounting needs for different business separately. Allow me to explain this to you further, LiveWell2.

       

      If you're getting the "upgrade" error, you can close the window if you have the option so you can proceed adding another company file. To create a new one within your current QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2019 software, you can follow the steps outlined below:

       

      1. Open QuickBooks Desktop.
      2. From the menu, select File and then New Company.
      3. Choose Express Start if you want to create a new company quickly with a simplified setup, or select Start Setup if you prefer to customize your company settings during the setup process.
      4. Follow the on-screen prompts to enter your company's information, such as company name, industry, and other relevant details.
      5. Once you've completed the setup, you'll have a new company file within your QuickBooks Desktop software.

      Thank you.  Express start was not an option for me. But I finally found another way by using the "advance setup" that was in a drop down box.  It successfully let me set up my 2nd company.

      Can you share the screenshot of the message? Click the camera icon on the menu to insert image here. You can manage multiple company files with QB Desktop.

        As I was going through the process, I found a drop down box that had a "advance setup" option which then allowed me to set up my 2nd company.  Thank you

        After different attempts, I finally found one that worked.  Using the "advance setup" in the drop down box.
