Certainly, @chacon111, you may link a personal checking account to QuickBooks Online. Let me go into more detail about the procedure to keep the account organized.

One of the primary steps in starting a new business is to open a business checking account.

While it is still possible to link your personal account, doing so is not recommended due to the possibility of transactions or account balances becoming mixed up. I advise speaking with your accountant about this matter. They'll be able to decide what actions to take next that is best.

You can read this article about how to handle combining personal and business funds.

In addition, if you want to set up your account for online banking, stick to the instructions below.

  1. Select Bookkeeping then go to Transactions then choose Bank transactions or Banking.
  2. If you're setting up the first time, click Connect account. Or choose Link account if you already added one.
  3. Go to the search field, and fill in the name of your bank, credit card, or credit union. Note: If you can’t find your bank but still want to proceed, you can manually upload your bank transactions.
  4. Hit Continue. Then log in to your bank with your user ID and password.
  5. Go through the on-screen steps. This might include security checks your bank needs. It may take a few minutes to connect.
  6. Pick the accounts you want to connect, then choose the account type ▼dropdown. Select the account type that matches your chart of accounts in QuickBooks.
