If you are not yet sure about their credentials, you may consider the following points:

1. Invite them as Users and you can set the restrictions. Don't let them access your QBO account as an Accountant. An accountant = a Company Admin

2. Don't enable your bank's feed feature and ask them to import bank transactions manually. You can use MT Online or one of the converter tools (eg csv2qbo @ $60 one time license).

3. You can register for a free Melio account to manage and pay your bills. You can use the approval feature.

You can get $100 cashback to pay the first bill.

Thanks for reaching out to us, Joe. Allow me to share information about adding your accountant to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Your accountant will have access to all the features available in your version of QBO once you add them to your company. They have additional privileges that allow them to undo entire reconciliations, reclassify transactions, and write off invoices. Moreover, they can use accountant-specific tools to help you prepare for taxes. It's worth noting that regular accountant users don't count toward your usage limit.

If you wish to limit their access, you can add them as a standard user. This way, you can customize their role and give permission for specific tasks. Feel free to read this article to know more about the definition of every role: User roles and access rights in QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, you can also take advantage of the audit log, which allows you to view your account activity. Doing so allows you to track who made changes to your books and what they did.
