Question

Should I upload to QBplus if I'm only going to use 60% of the app? My business doesn't need more.

An QB expert suggested me to bought QB Online Essentials for my company (which isn't even a month old), which doesn't have a payroll or any special features and we do not handle any inventory in US territory. I explained the purpose of the company, the products, and everything, and the QB expert's final suggestion was QBOE. Now I'm told it doesn't have any inventory, so I can't enter products, only services. Is this possible? I mean, why would I pay for QBplus if I'm only going to use 60% of the app? My business doesn't need more...not right now. What do you suggest?

Hello, sales309! Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your QuickBooks subscription. I truly appreciate the information you've provided. I have some details about which of our products best suits your business requirements, so you can focus on managing its growth effectively.

Since your business is new and doesn't involve payroll or inventory tasks within the US, the advanced features of QuickBooks Online (QBO) Plus might seem unnecessary. However, if managing inventory is crucial for your product-based business outside the US, you should consider exploring options that include inventory management features.

If you opt to upgrade from Essentials to Plus edition, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as a primary or company admin.
  2. Go to Settings or the Gear icon and select Subscriptions and billing
  3. Make sure your payment info is up to date.
  4. In the QuickBooks Online section, select Upgrade your plan
  5. Review the available plans and then select Choose plan.
  6. Follow the on-screen steps to upgrade your plan.

Rea_M, thanks for your suggestions. I'm trying to figure out why my QBOE won't let me manage "non-inventory products." I don't understand why it's so difficult.
Everyone who sends me comments, even on the phone, tells me to upgrade to Plus, and no one understands or wants to understand that I can't upgrade to QBplus. It's too expensive for me now. If I don't manage inventory here in the US, I DON'T NEED PLUS, and I'm not going to pay for a program that I'll use halfway or less.
An expert emailed me to show me how to upload products by choosing the "non-inventory products" option. His videos show a completely different QB, so again, I can't do anything. I don't even know what QB sold me anymore. I'm really frustrated. I can't upload products, I can't make estimates or invoices. I have to do them in Excel like they did 50 years ago. It's impossible... I'm paying for a program that doesn't work, and that bothers me. Sorry, I will see what the expert assisted team can do...

@sales309

You need QBO Plus to manage inventories. Another option, use an old QB Desktop with a non subscription license. You can consider switching to QBO Plus later whenever you're ready.
