Question

Standard limited customers and vendors user cannot edit inventory even though it says he has full acccess to inventory permissions

One of the users in our company has the role permissions called "Standard limited customers and vendors" and when you view the details of the permission for this user, it says he has "full access" to inventory management, including adjusting starting value, adjusting quantity, and deleting inventory. When he is on his account, it says he cannot do anything but adjust the starting value. He cannot adjust quantity or delete inventory. How do I fix this to make his account reflect the permissions that my admin account says he has?

Hi Hetaiter.

I have the necessary information to help you clarify the access roles and permissions within the program.

Users who are added to Standard limited customers and vendors role can see and manage everything related to customers, sales, vendors, and purchases. However, there are certain activities that they cannot perform, like the following:

  • Add, edit, and delete accounts and quantity on hand.
  • View bank registers.
  • See total income and expense amounts on home, vendor, and custom pages.

To accomplish your goal, you need to select another role permission that is applicable to them.

Please note that if you change a user's role from Standard Limited Customers and Vendors to another role, you cannot reassign them to the original role. This has been discontinued and will be unavailable to new users from May 2024.

You can read this article to know which roles apply to inventory management: User roles and access right.
