Question

Starting over in QuickBooks with a new subscription

I want to start over in Quickbooks, but my QBO account has been active for more than 90 days. I can't simply replace "homepage" with "purgecompany" in the url, and Quickbooks is telling me I must cancel my subscription and then start a new subscription. My QuickBooks account was paid for and I have access to it for the next year. Will starting a new subscription to start over in QuickBooks mean I will need to pay for a new subscription?

Hey, @emily_feng.Welcome to the QuickBooks Community! I'd be more than happy to provide you with some direct answers to your questions about starting over in QBO.

If your account is older than 90 days, you'll need to cancel your current QuickBooks company and start over with a new subscription. Therefore, you'll need to pay for the new subscription when starting over. Here's how:

Step 1: Cancel your current company
Follow these steps to cancel your account. If you have payroll, cancel your payroll subscription too.

Step 2: Start a new company
  1. Sign up for QuickBooks Online.
  2. Enter your user ID and password. You can use the same user ID and password as before.
  3. Optional: If your previous company had payroll, make sure to add Payroll in Step 2 of the sign-up process.

Review this guide for more details and how to perform these actions properly: Delete your data and start over in QBO.Feel free to comeback if you have any other questions. I'm only a post away if you need me again. Take care!
