How do I stop using classes in QB Desktop 2020?  I inactivated all classes but when entering transactions it still asks for a class.

@chriswong Hi, thanks for reaching out to the community.

I will be glad to show you how to deactivate the Class feature in QuickBooks Desktop and get you back to business!

  1. Go to the Edit tab and select Preferences (This is usually the last option in the list).
  2. Once that screen opens, click the first option (Accounting).
  3. Next to My Preference, select Company Preferences. If you can not make changes, you would need to be logged in as the Admin.
  4. Under Class, uncheck the box Use class tracking for transactions.
  5. Select OK once you are completed and return to your transactions to confirm the adjustments. I have included this link in case you want to activate it in the future Setup and use class tracking

Hope this helps. Please feel free to reach again ,if you have further questions

Have an amazing weekend!
