Changing to QB Online from Desktop 2019 version.

Will my historical data (prior years) transfer online as well? I want to be able to generate reports for prior years.

Thank you, Aimee

Thanks for checking out the Community, Aimee.

I'm here to share additional insights about the migration process.

Your historical data from QuickBooks Desktop will transfer automatically to QuickBooks Online. However, there are differences in how your books will appear. Also, some features in the online version are named differently and might not work exactly the same.

To find out how your company file will be converted, I recommend reading this article: Learn how features and data move from QBDT to QBO. I'm also adding these references that will guide you in converting your data and setting up your QBO company:

Earlier this year I signed up for QBOL and have been having my account charged to my CC monthly. I was going to start OL on Oct 1 but for some reasons I can't swap over.

@Hen12

You can install the trial version for QB Desktop 2023 to upgrade your file and convert it to QBO. But why should you consider switching to QB Online? If you work alone, you should stick with QB Desktop.

Do you need to convert data from QBD 2019 to QBO US version?
