Question

There is a glitch with the login cookies here: https://selfemployed.intuit.com/loginI frequently get a 400 response, "Bad Request." It always works incognito. Fix pls?

Whenever the system asks me to log into a recently logged-in account (I don't have a screenshot right now but I'll be able to get one at some point) that login fails after I put in my password. I'm using Chrome. When that happens, I can go to an incognito window and the login always works. Then it starts working in the regular browser once the cookies have expired. I don't really have time to troubleshoot this, and it's easy to work around, but it's still annoying and has been an issue for many months.

@michaelmarvosh  Yeah, that's not going to happen.

As far as I know, all of QB's online offerings suffer from cache issues. It's a feature, not a bug.

A Bad Request Error 400 in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) signals an issue with the request being sent to the server, @michaelmarvosh. You can clear your browser's cache or use another supported browser for QBSE to get this fixed. Allow me to discuss this with you below.

To start, I appreciate you providing a detailed description of your concern. Addressing cache-related problems by clearing your browser's cache can resolve this issue and help prevent it from recurring.

Here's how:

  1. Open your Chrome browser.
  2. Click the three-dot icon at the top-right corner and select Delete browsing data.
  3. Choose a time range, like Last hour or All time.
  4. Select Cached images and files.
  5. Click Delete data.

You can refer to this article for how to clear cache in other browsers: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

For additional details, you can also use other supported browsers that work perfectly with QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Additionally, refer to this article to help you prepare to file your taxes: QuickBooks Self-Employed Annual Tax Guide.

If you need further assistance with accessing your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account, don’t hesitate to let me know in the comments below. We're always here to lend you a hand whenever you need it.

Clearing cookies does work, but it's a workaround, not a fix.

And, you really shouldn't be recommending I blow away all browser cookies. That can lose me lots of data on other sites.

This method is much more surgical, and does work: [see screenshot]
