Transfer clients to another practice

Hi.  A client is moving to another firm and I want to transfer their file over to them.  That is, I do not want this client showing up in my client list anymore. I tried accessing the "transfer" tool from the practice page and have been told that "It looks like you don't have access yet".  I'm the only admin, and the Master Admin. Super annoying. 

 

Help, anyone?

I can help you transfer clients and remove them from your list, @userspeterson.

 

You can easily move all clients from one profile to another. Let me show how: 

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online Accountant as a master admin.
  2. Choose the Settings ⚙ menu and then select Transfer clients.
  3. Review the profile in the Transfer to section and then click Next.
  4. In the Transfer from section, select the profile you want to move clients from and then choose Next.
  5. Tick the checkboxes for the clients you want to move to. 
  6. When you're ready, click Transfer clients.

If you're the master admin for your QuickBooks Online Accountant firm, you can permanently delete clients. You lose all access to their company and any work in features like Prep for taxes.

 

Here's how:

  1. If you're currently the master admin for your client's company, ensure your customer assigns a new master admin.
  2. If the client is part of your wholesale billing plan, remove them from it. Your client gets full access to their accounts after they update their billing info.
  3. Log in to QuickBooks Online Accountant as an admin.
  4. Choose Clients.
  5. Locate the client you want to delete and click their name.
  6. In the Edit client dropdown, choose to Delete permanently
  7. Click Yes to confirm.
