Question

We have (2) capital one accounts, each with a different log-in. I do not see where Quickbooks Online does gives me option to log-in with different log-in credentials

Thanks for visiting the Community space, @John403404.

When connecting a second account using the same bank inside QuickBooks Online (QBO), it takes a few steps to have it ready for use inside the company file. It'll be our pleasure to outline them below:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. On the left navigational bar, select Transactions and then choose Bank transactions.
  3. In the Link account ▼ dropdown, select Manage connections. Then toggle on the switch for any additional account you want to connect.
  4. If you don't see the account there, go back to Transactions and select Link account. Follow the steps to connect a new bank or credit card account.

For more information, click Connect another account if you bank is already previously connected section inside this page: Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online.

You also want to clear your browser's cache if you still can't add a second account since a temporary internet file can affect the performance when using QBO. Refer to this page for further instructions: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

On the other hand, we also recommend checking this page to learn more about reconciling an account inside QBO: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

You can add a response in the comment section if you have follow-up questions about connecting bank accounts inside the program or need help handling bank transactions. We'll be around to assist you again. Have a good one.

Thanks Kurt. There is no option to add a second account to say capital me using an alternate log-in.

we have two company owners, each with separate bank log-ins for each of their credit card account.

that was no issue with the desktop version.

it does not give me an option to add a second account with Capital One with a different user name and password than the account already syncing.

thoughts?

We appreciate you for going back to this thread, John. Let me share some steps that will help you connect the same bank account with different login credentials in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Let's check if it's a browser-related issue since the steps provided by my colleague didn't allow you to add another account.

We can start logging in to your QBO account using a private browser. This ensures that websites cannot use cookies or record any browsing data or history. Use these shortcut keys on your keyboard to access incognito mode:

  • Mozilla Firefox: CTRL + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

However, if the issue persists, you can contact our Support Team so that they can further investigate your concern. The support representatives have the necessary tools to determine the root cause of the problem.

Furthermore, this article may be helpful if you want to print or export a reconciliation report: How to view a reconciliation report.

Please keep us posted if you require further assistance with your bank account or any QuickBooks-related queries. We're here to lend a hand. Take care.
