Question

We have made changes to the chart of accounts but one of our users can't see them. This is even after several days so synch time shouldn't be an issue. How to fix?

Let's find out why one of the users is unable to view the Chart of Accounts, edwin-oh.

You can start by checking the access right of this user. A standard user with a limited role is one of the reasons why a user can't view registers.

Please review this link and check what a user can or can't perform in the system: User roles and access rights in QuickBooks Online.

If the user is the master admin of the account, then their profile is damage. You can delete and re-invite the user to fix this.

Let me show you how:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙, then choose Manage users.
  2. Find the user you want to delete.
  3. Click the arrow icon in the Action column. then pick Delete.
  4. Click Delete to confirm.

Keep in mind, deleting a user is permanent. But you can still view their history in the audit log.

To invite again the user:

  1. Click Add user.
  2. Choose a user type, then click Next.
  3. Select the access rights for the user, then select Next.
  4. Manage the user settings, if applicable, then select Next.
  5. Enter the user’s name and email address.
  6. Click Save.

Each user you add to QuickBooks has a certain permission level. This determines what they can or can't do. Learn more about user types and managing their permissions.

Keep me posted on how this goes. I'll be right here whenever you need additional information about managing a user.
