Question

We migrated our data when we tried out Quickbooks Online a few years ago. We are ready to return to online & migrate current data. It's over 60 days and won't let me.

Is there a way to migrate data after the 60 days?  Or do I need to chat with support about this?  It's a weekend, so they weren't available to chat with.

Hi there, Valerie.

Thank you for reaching out to the QuickBooks Community about your migration concerns with QuickBooks. Transitioning from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online can be a significant step, and it's important to ensure your data migrates smoothly. Since the standard 60-day window for migrating data has passed, your situation requires a bit more attention. Since it’s the weekend and support may not be available, let’s look at other options you can explore in the meantime.

Here’s what you can do to migrate your current data:

The best initial step to take is to cancel your current QBO account and create a new company file. This way, you'll be able to migrate your QBDT data to your new QBO account with ease.

Another option is to use a third-party services to assist with data migration from QBDT to QBO, especially past the 60-day window. These services handle complexities and ensure data accuracy.
